Temper for
Science Where is rural India?
Upward rural mobility requires
a temper for science in rural youth. Any progress indeed even survival
will more and more hinge on our ability to harness the
fruits of science for every vocation,
where rural youth have been left behind in learning. There is
practically no science in state run institutions
at the primary and secondary levels a big chasm. As an experiment,
The League is taking a unique interest in creating a
rural science museum on a small scale. The aim is to expose the
rudiments of common scientific principles we come across in application in
daily lives, so that youth can learn through actual experiences rather
than having to go through books. The scope will cover the basic laws of
physics and biology to
demonstrate the working of various machines and growth of plant life etc.
To our reckoning there are no rural science museums anywhere. We
therefore solicit any ideas and suggestions on this theme for which we
shall be grateful.
Note:
We would acknowledge any suggestions or ideas on creating a rural science
museum?
We would appreciate any support for a model or provide references and
links on the subject.
